A little offroading summit near Apex Mountain Resort

This was the last peak in a little offroad-accessible peak romp Logan and I went on before driving into Penticton for a concert, and picks up from the end of the trip report for Beaconsfield Mountain.

After we drove down from Beaconsfield, we split off of the Powerline Trail/Road to the north, where we found a rougher-looking dirt road that had a sign for Riordan, so we started driving. This road was a bit rougher than the previous 2, with more large rocks, a steeper grade, and some more rutting. I would still say a medium clearance AWD vehicle can make it with careful route selection, though. The drive took us less than 10 minutes, and we once again drove right to the top, making this one of the least-effort trips exercise-wise for 3 summits we've ever done! We got some quick pictures, but headed down shortly thereafter, as it was past 6pm and we had to check in to our inn and get to our concert for 7:30, and the actual town of Penticton was still a bit of a ways away.

My little Jeep, even on winter tires, still did great for us!

On the way down, we decided to take a bit of a gamble and take a different route that connected with the main road to the north, closer to the paved Apex Mountain Road that we were going to take into the town. Thankfully, this gamble paid off, and it was no more difficult driving than the way up, and we cut a good amount of time off of our descent, and made it to town in time for the concert, with a few peaks done ahead-of-schedule to boot! I'd definitely recommend checking these peaks out if you're around, just for the ease-of-access if nothing else. I can't honestly say they're that exciting from a technical perspective, though.
